SUD-KIVU: CONSTRUCTIONS ERECTED ON RENATELSAT LAND
Traders have been organizing a market for several months on land owned by the National Satellite Communications Network (Renatelsat) in Nyabibwe in Kalehe territory. Houses are also built there. These constructions risk damaging an antenna relaying the signal of the Congolese national television station on this land.
The provincial Minister of Information of South Kivu wrote to the administrator of the territory of Kalehe to challenge him on the matter.
The acting provincial director of Renatelsat, Damas Munembwe, visited the site on Tuesday, March 11. He says he is waiting for the territory administrator to make arrangements to relocate the market, discourage people from building houses there and secure the site.
