The Satellite Telecommunications National Network, RENATELSAT in acronym, is the only Public Satellite Operator of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a public company of a technical and commercial nature, created by Presidential Order n°91-240 of September 30, 1991. It is placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Media and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and New Information and Communication Technologies.
Its headquarters is located in Kinshasa, at the 4th Floor of the Administrative Tower of the RTNC, at the crossroads of Kabinda and Liberation avenues, in LINGWALA.
It has thus a double activity whose missions are:
The installation, the management and the maintenance of the domestic network of satellite telecommunications (DOMSAT).
The technical and commercial exploitation of the network.
The insurance and the enlargement of the national audio-visual coverage and the advent of the country to the digital migration towards DTT (DVB-T). It is the Public Broadcaster and Public Carrier.
