Activities of the National Satellite Communications Network
The Satellite Telecommunications National Network, RENATELSAT in acronym, is the only Public Satellite Operator of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a public company of a technical and commercial nature, created by Presidential Order n°91-240 of September 30, 1991. It is placed under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Media and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and New Information and Communication Technologies.
RENATELSAT, as a Public Broadcaster, Public Carrier and Public Operator of reference, aware of its missions, has the following objectives
Until 1973, the national audio-visual coverage was almost non-existent due to the problem of the propagation mode used by the shortwave radio broadcasting transmitters were decametric and hectometric.
